Nearly two decades after their last performance in Portugal, Simply Red return to the country for a unique concert at MEO Arena, as part of their new Summer Funk ’27 tour.
Led by Mick Hucknall, Simply Red have built a career spanning more than four decades, establishing themselves as one of the most internationally recognized British bands and winning over several generations with a sound that blends pop, soul, and R&B.
Their repertoire includes some of the most iconic songs in British music of recent decades, such as “Holding Back the Years”, “If You Don’t Know Me by Now”, “Stars”, “Fairground”, “Something Got Me Started”, and “For Your Babies”.
In 2025, the band released Recollections, a collection featuring 40 newly recorded versions of songs from their catalogue. Simply Red’s relationship with Portugal began in 1988, and since then the band has performed on some of the country’s most prestigious stages. Their last appearance in Portugal took place in 2008 at Herdade dos Salgados, in Albufeira.
In 2027, almost 20 years later, Simply Red return to Portugal for another meeting with Portuguese audiences, as part of the Summer Funk ’27 tour, which once again takes the band back on the road.
