The Heaviest of the Capital:
Regula, Sam the Kid, Valete and Xeg live at MEO Arena for an unprecedented show
Regula, Sam the Kid, Valete and Xeg join forces in a quartet format never before witnessed for an unmissable concert where anything can happen, on November 14th, at MEO Arena, in Lisbon. Tickets are already on sale.
The history of the last few years speaks for itself for these four figures who have blazed trails and built their path in Portuguese hip hop since the 90s, and who, in 2010, combined verses and a defiant attitude to create one of the anthems of Portuguese hip hop, entitled "Os Mais Pesados da Capital" (The Heaviest of the Capital). This track, number 11, part of the "Egotripping Mixtape" released by XEG, with its edgy and provocative rhymes and a dizzying beat, is the inspiration for the show that will take place at MEO Arena, sixteen years after its release.
The four have already shared adventures, with egotripping moments along the way, exposed dilemmas, raised issues for debate, and created emblematic albums for Portuguese music, such as “Ritmo & Poesia” (2001, Xeg), “Educação Visual” (2003, Valete), “Praticamente” (2006, Sam the Kid), and “Gancho” (Regula, 2013).
At the same time, they never stopped collaborating with each other; the symbiosis was nurtured over time, culminating in a solid artistic connection, in addition to “Os Mais Pesados da Capital”, which features timeless themes such as: “Beleza Artificial” (Valete, Bônus and Sam the Kid), “Gana” (Regula and Sam the Kid), “Passemos a Coisas Sérias” (Regula and Xeg), “Xeg e Sam” (Sam the Kid, Xeg and Sanryse), and “Nivea” (Regula and Valete). It's still unknown what will happen on stage – that will only be revealed on the day – but a unique night is already promised, designed for audiences of various generations, in the largest concert venue in the country.
The show has Super Bock as its official sponsor and Antena 3 as its official radio station.
