The break is over as Cirque du Soleil's spectacular and revolutionary ice experience entitled CRYSTAL, is back.
Crystal is the story of a young creative girl who, in a thrilling tale of self-discovery, plunges into a universe of her own imagination and invites the audience to suspend reality and slide into a world that comes to life with incredible visual projections and an original soundtrack. This is another of Cirque du Soleil's unique productions where you will find the world's best skaters and acrobats in the new frozen playground where they rapidly and fluidly defy the laws of gravity with never-before-seen tricks.
Mike Newquist, Senior Vice President of the Touring Shows Division said, "We are absolutely ecstatic to finally bring CRYSTAL back on the road. For two years our performers have been awaiting the return of the opportunity to skate and be with audiences again. It will be an emotional and magical return."
CRYSTAL is Cirque du Soleil's 42nd new creation and explores the artistic possibilities of ice for the first time. This unique production exceeds the boundaries of performance by combining dazzling skating and acrobatic manoeuvres that challenge the imagination. It features an international cast of top figure skating, freestyle and competitive ice skaters, acrobats, musicians and a comic book character. Eleven different nationalities are represented in the cast.
CRYSTAL'S TALE
Crystal is a brilliant creative young girl who feels misunderstood and out of sync with herself. To escape her reality, she adventures herself into a frozen lake and falls through the ice into an upside-down world. In this underwater world of her fantasy, Crystal finds a reflection of herself that guides her across this new world and awakens her to her own inventiveness. As she continues her journey, she transforms her peculiarities into creativity with a simple move of her pen. With this new power, Crystal is able to find her true self and return to the real world.
