At last, the Portuguese public has a chance to go to a concert by the world’s biggest pop phenomenon of recent years: Justin Bieber!!! The debut, long-awaited by Portuguese fans, is scheduled for 11 March 2013, at the Pavilhão Atlântico.
At just 15 years old, Justin Bieber needed only one record to become an international star. Published in 2010, “My World 2.0” was launched by the single “Baby”, with a video that was the most watched and commented on Youtube in 2011. Among his many awards, such as “Artist of the Year” at the American Music Awards, Justin Bieber was also nominated for two Grammys in the categories “Best New Artist” and “Best Pop Vocal Album.”
After publishing a Christmas album, “Under the Mistletoe” (2011), this month saw him return to albums of originals with “Believe.” The album shot straight to first place in the US charts, with 374,000 copies sold in the first week, becoming the best-selling album in the first week of 2012.
The album was launched via the single “Boyfriend”, which became an immediate hit on radio stations throughout the world. The second single, “As Long as You Love Me” features Big Sean, one of several collaborations on the disc, which also features Ludacris, Drake and Nicki Minaj.
With a huge community of fans called “Beliebers”, Justin Bieber is far from a passing fad. With a voice that evokes the great soul singers of the ‘60s and ‘70s, Justin Bieber is a complete artist, singing, composing, playing, dancing and producing. The young Canadian is still known for his live shows, which are always bold and dramatic productions.
