THE BLACK KEYS
27 NOV 2012
MEO ARENA
Opening Act: The Maccabees
Since good things come to those who wait, the most popular band for Portuguese music lovers is finally playing live here for the first time: The Black Keys!
Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, The Black Keys, are no overnight success. They built their career solidly, without hurry or concerning themselves with stardom. Rather, they preferred to become known as one of the most hard-working bands of today, releasing records at break-neck speed and constantly on the road. The garage rock style that characterizes them started to take shape with the first record, “The Big Come Up” (2002) and improved with every records, “Thickfreakness” (2003), “Rubber Factory” (2004), “Magic Potion” (2006), “Attack & Release” (2008) and “Brothers” (2010), finally arriving at the latest El Camino, released at the end of last year.
The band''s efforts have not been in vain, and audience and critical acclaim reaches new highs at each new release. With more than two million albums sold and three Grammys in the bag, they still find time for brilliant alternative projects, Blakroc, and to create videos as brilliant as that of Lonely Boy. A first show not to be missed!
