Has anybody there talked about those unmissable concerts? The legendary MERCYFUL FATE will, finally appear in Portugal in 2020! “We will do a number of non-specified concerts in Europe during the summer”, read a communication which, at the beginning of August, announced the much-awaited return of the legendary band to the stages during the next year. At the time there were probably few who could imagine that they would finally touch down on national soil for the first time, but this is what will happen on the 27th of June 2020 in the Sala Tejo of Altice Arena, in Lisbon.

Formed in 1981, the group led by the inimitable King Diamond brings together around him a huge cult of followers, thanks to the dramatic letters and a gothic obsession for evil and the occult, which turned him into one of the most influential and revered names in the music underground of the 80´s – Metallica and a great part of the black metal movement, there was no lack of musicians paying homage. Now, with the formation that recorded “9” two decades ago; namely King Diamond on voice, Hank Sherman and Mike Wead on guitar,Bjarn T Holm on drums and the base space taken up by Joey Vera of, ARMOURED SAINT, the Danish band returns to the concerts almost a decade later with the promise to focus on the release of their mini LP, and obviously, the classics “Melissa” and “Don´t Break the Oath”, of 1982, 1983 and 1984 at the same time taking advantage of the occasion to also play some new material.   .
