IRON MAIDEN will kick off their 'RUN FOR YOUR LIVES' world tour on May 27 next year in Budapest, after which there will be 27 concerts in stadiums, festivals and arenas across Europe. This route, which celebrates 50 years since Steve Harris founded the band at the end of 1975, is also set to stop in Portugal, with the British legends taking to the stage at the MEO Arena in Lisbon on July 6 next year. To celebrate this occasion, IRON MAIDEN fans can expect a very special line-up of songs, covering their first nine studio albums, from “Iron Maiden” to “Fear Of The Dark”, in what will be their most spectacular and elaborate performance ever!
Tickets will go on sale from September 26 at 10am. As always, there will be an exclusive pre-sale for IRON MAIDEN Fan Club members, and Trooper VIP packages will be available at all shows.
Says lead singer Bruce Dickinson: “Next year is going to be very special for IRON MAIDEN and we're going to give our fans a once-in-a-lifetime live experience. This is a tour that will put a smile on your faces and excitement in your throats. If you've seen us before, get ready to take that experience to a whole new level. If you've never seen us before, what have you been waiting for? This is your chance to find out what you've been missing! IRON MAIDEN will definitely surprise you!”.
Manager Rod Smallwood adds: “50 years of Iron Maiden and I've seen 46 of them! With over 100 million albums sold and almost 2,500 shows in 64 countries to millions of fans and counting, we continue to love every second of it and consider every tour a new challenge to bring something different and exciting to our fans. For this very special occasion, we're raising the bar!
We'll be performing classics and fan favorites from the first nine albums, from “Iron Maiden” to “Fear Of The Dark”, many of which we haven't played in years and will most likely never play again in the future. We've already been working hard for months to put together an even more spectacular and elaborate new set, which will bring the songs to life like we've never been able to do before. These are going to be huge years for IRON MAIDEN and, of course, for Eddie too, and we're very excited about what we have in store for you, the fans, throughout our 50th year of existence. I promise you'll all be very pleased!”.
The second half of the 'RUN FOR YOUR LIVES' TOUR 2025/26, which includes the concert at MEO Arena in Lisbon on July 6, 2025, will also feature Swedish band AVATAR as guests. Highly ambitious wizards, the visionaries of metal'n'roll fusion, AVATAR, blur the line between image and sound and have been tearing down the boundaries between what is usually seen as a band and a theater troupe for over two decades. Along the way, they have already become a global phenomenon.

IRON MAIDEN BIOGRAPHY
It's a story like no other - a sound that changed the world. In the almost 50 years since bassist Steve Harris's vision was born in the modest, working-class sprawl of East London, IRON MAIDEN have become nothing less than an institution. More than the tours that have criss-crossed the globe or the albums that have smashed the sales charts and inspired a fan base that can be found in every time zone, the almost mythical status and undeniable cultural impact of the British band cannot be overstated, but it is the fact that theirs is a narrative that continues to unfold to this day that is truly noteworthy.
IRON MAIDEN simply take no prisoners - not when they first started out, and not now; and in the decades since they began their journey, they have grown to embody a spirit of bold creative independence, an unwavering dedication to their fans and a cheerful indifference towards their critics that can only be described as legendary. If there's one thing we already know, it's that IRON MAIDEN never stand still for long, and their ability to make the extraordinary seem routine has never wavered.
With the band's 50th anniversary approaching, a new tour now appears to fill the horizon, matching the colossal scale of a truly unique half-century. The aptly titled 'Run For Your Lives' will take the British band to some of the biggest venues they've ever played and is designed to spark the imagination and continue their commitment to reaching ever higher with a line-up and productions that will delight fans of all generations: a global celebration of the past, present and eternal living legend.
IRON MAIDEN were formed in London's East End in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, quickly establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the then emerging New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1980, was a landmark that also introduced the world to their iconic mascot, Eddie. Its 1981 successor, “Killers”, continued this rise and saw the band embark on their first world tour, which would serve as a model for the continuous production of records and for a tireless route of shows that would continue for years and decades to come.
“Killers” would be the band's last album with singer Paul Di'Anno, who was replaced by Samson's Bruce Dickinson for the recording of 1982's explosive ‘The Number Of The Beast’, which reached #1 in the UK album chart. Their commercial success inspired a decade of relentless touring and album releases, including 1983's acclaimed “Piece Of Mind”, which spawned two epic singles, “The Trooper” and “Flight Of Icarus”, and 1984's “Powerslave”, which set the stage for the marathon World Slavery Tour: 198 concerts in 28 countries over 13 months, including four consecutive sold-out shows at the Long Beach Arena, which would serve as the basis for the iconic “Live After Death” album, as well as their first headlining performance at Rock In Rio. The 1980s also saw the release of the celebrated 1986 album “Somewhere In Time” and the landmark 1987 “Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son”, which closed a decade of triumph and firmly cemented IRON MAIDEN in the annals of global music history.
The 1990s brought significant changes for the band, with guitarist Adrian Smith leaving in 1990 to be replaced by Janick Gers, as well as Bruce Dickinson leaving after the release of “Fear Of The Dark” in 1992. During this period, Blaze Bayley held the vocalist position for two albums before Bruce returned in 2000. This change brought about the band's final and current line-up, with Steve Harris on bass, Nicko McBrain on drums and “the three amigos” - Adrian Smith, Dave Murray and Janick Gers - on guitars. This period also marked the release of “Brave New World” in 2001, which marked the band's triumphant third act, a period of incredible forward momentum that continues to this day.
To date, IRON MAIDEN have released 17 studio albums, 13 live albums and 47 singles, which have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. The band has played almost 2,500 live concerts in 64 countries and was transported to some of these events aboard Ed Force One, a Boeing 757 and later a 747, piloted by singer Bruce Dickinson. The group has won a Grammy Award and a Brit Award, among many other prizes, and has recently joined the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd with its own collection of Royal Mail stamps. Their beer, Trooper Beer, is already in its tenth year of production and has sold over 38 million pints, being distributed in 68 countries, including four local variants in the United States, Germany, Brazil and Spain.
IRON MAIDEN's most recent album, 2021's “Senjutsu”, reached #1 in 27 countries and was named metal album of the year by Rolling Stone. 2024 will see the end of The Future Past world tour, before the start of the new Run For Your Lives Tour, scheduled for 2025 and 2026. This tour will celebrate the band's 50th anniversary and will include on its route some of the biggest venues the band has ever played.
